The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa is calling for full papers and extended abstracts for its Mechanical Engineering Research Symposium (MERS 2026, also written iMERS 2026 on the submission system). The submission deadline is 21 October 2026, 11:59 PM, and the symposium is on 18 December 2026. This page sets out the dates, tracks and submission rules from the official symposium site.

What you can submit

Submissions must be in English, must be original research (review papers are not accepted) and are reviewed double-blind, so leave out author names, affiliations, funding and acknowledgements from the first manuscript. Submit through the Microsoft CMT system linked from the author instructions page.

The site lists a Best Paper Award and a Best Extended Abstract Award, with certificates for all presenters. Proceedings are to be published through the University of Moratuwa Library repository.
The official pages we checked do not state the registration fee, whether it is waived for presenting authors, or whether papers receive a DOI. Some circulating notices mention a fee waiver and a DOI, so confirm both with the organisers before you rely on them. The same notices describe the 21 October date as an extension, but the official pages we read show no extension notice.
