How to read your result entry
First match the identifying details in the official row with your own examination information. Then read the marks shown under each subject heading. Where displayed, check the following details:
- Candidate name
- Confirm that the spelling and initials refer to you; do not rely on the name alone.
- NIC or examination index number
- Use this only to confirm your own entry. Keep the number private.
- Examination medium
- Check that the listed medium matches the medium in which you sat the examination.
- Subject marks
- Read each mark under the correct subject column. Do not treat one subject mark as the overall result.

Understanding the pass requirement
The applicable official examination information states that a candidate should obtain 40 marks or more in each relevant subject. Check every subject that applies to you; a mark of 40 or above in one subject does not compensate for a lower mark in another.
Do not infer a final pass when a required subject is missing, marked absent or otherwise unclear. The official result, applicable Sri Lanka Principals’ Service Minute, Gazette notification and any later official instructions remain controlling.
What should you do next?
If every relevant subject shows 40 marks or more
Save a private copy of the official PDF or note your result securely. Follow any instructions issued by your employer, zonal/provincial education authority or the Ministry. An EB result by itself should not be treated as an automatic promotion, appointment or service confirmation.
If a relevant subject is below 40 or shows absence
Check the applicable Service Minute and current official instructions for the next permitted examination or procedure. BrightNook cannot determine an individual officer’s service consequence.
If your record is missing or appears incorrect
Contact the Department of Examinations through an official channel. Keep your examination index number and NIC ready for private verification, but never place them in a public comment or send them to BrightNook.
What to do if the result PDF does not open
- Wait a few minutes and try again; official websites may be slow when many candidates visit at once.
- Refresh the page or use another browser.
- Open the official Sri Lanka Principals’ Service page and locate the same result notice.
- Do not enter your NIC or index number into an unrelated result website.
- Do not download a re-uploaded result sheet when the Ministry-hosted copy is available.
Re-scrutiny or result correction
A re-scrutiny, appeal or correction deadline was not stated on the result page available when this article was checked. Do not rely on an unofficial deadline. If your details or marks appear incorrect, ask the Department of Examinations or Ministry of Education for the current official procedure.
