Applications opened on 5 October 2026 and close at 9.00 p.m. on 2 November 2026. If you are 25–35 with O/L credits and at least one A/L pass, here is what you need to know.

Who Can Apply
According to the gazette notice, you must:
- Be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Be at least 25 and not more than 35 years old on the closing date of applications.
- Be of excellent moral character.
- Be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- Have passed the G.C.E. O/L in six subjects at one sitting, with credit passes in Sinhala, Tamil or English language, Mathematics and two other subjects, and
- Have passed at least one subject at the G.C.E. A/L in one sitting (the Common General Test and General English do not count).
All qualifications must be met on or before the closing date of applications.

You must score at least 40 marks in each written paper. Candidates are then called for the interview in order of their total written marks. The exam is held in Sinhala, Tamil or English – you choose one medium when you apply and cannot change it later.
