Management Assistant Grade III: Full Requirements
- G.C.E. O/L in six subjects at one sitting, with credit passes in Sinhala or Tamil Language, English Language or English Literature, and Mathematics, and
- Passes in all subjects at the G.C.E. A/L at one sitting, except the Common General Paper (three subjects under the old syllabus are enough).
- Sri Lankan citizen, aged 18 to 30 on the closing date, of good character.
- Preference: a computer applications qualification of at least six months from a recognised institute, and two years’ experience using computer packages.
- Selection: written exam (75%) covering Sinhala/Tamil and English, IQ and general knowledge, and computer literacy, plus an interview (25%).
Works Aide, Gardener, Mechanic and Carpenter
- Works Aide and Gardener Grade III: O/L in six subjects with at least two credits, in no more than two sittings. Selection by trade test and/or structured interview.
- Mechanic Grade III: NVQ Level 4 or higher, relevant to mechanic work, from a TVEC-accepted institute. Selection by trade test and interview. Permanent post with Universities Provident Fund and pension benefits.
- Carpenter (contract): NVQ Level 4 or higher, relevant to carpentry. Selection by trade test and interview.
- All four: Sri Lankan citizen, physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in the island.
