How Selection Works
Eligible applicants sit an aptitude test conducted by ITUM. Those who pass are ranked by their G.C.E. A/L Z-score. Places are filled 40% on island-wide merit and 60% on a district quota, so your rank within your district matters. Our A/L Z-score guide explains how this ranking works.

- G.C.E. O/L results (English credit needed for maritime).
- National Identity Card and birth certificate details.

BrightNook Practical Tips
- Apply for both sets if you qualify: It costs only Rs. 200 more and gives you more options.
- Don’t forget the postal step: An online form alone is not enough. Post the printed copy early, not on 19 October.
- Prepare for the aptitude test: Revise A/L Physics and Maths problem-solving; you must pass the test before Z-score ranking applies.
- Think about your district: With 60% of places on district quota, compare yourself with applicants from your own district, not the whole island.
- Keep copies: Save the online confirmation and your registered post receipt until you receive a response.
