The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has officially opened recruitment for 1,286 contract positions across 107 depots in 12 regions. This includes 1,037 Driver posts and 249 Conductor posts. Submit applications via registered post by 07 September 2026.
To strengthen public transport operations across its 107 regional depots, the Sri Lanka Transport Board is accepting postal applications for contract drivers and conductors. Priority will be granted to qualified candidates residing in their respective local depot areas.
Recruitment involves a structured selection process, including an interview, practical evaluation, and training program according to SLTB procedures. Selected staff will be assigned duties on a roster basis.
Post Breakdown & Specific Criteria
01. Bus Driver (1,037 Posts)
- Age Limit: 21 to 45 years.
- Education: Passed G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects with at least 02 credit passes (maximum 2 sittings).
- Driving Licence: Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence with more than 3 years of driving experience.
- Physical Requirements: Minimum weight 45 kg | Minimum height 5 ft 3 in | Good physical health.
- Basic Allowance: Rs. 40,834/- per month.
- Note: Experience as a Heavy Passenger Vehicle Driver in a recognized institution is an added advantage.
02. Bus Conductor (249 Posts)
- Age Limit: 18 to 45 years.
- Education: Passed G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects including Mathematics and Mother Tongue with at least 02 credit passes (maximum 2 sittings).
- Physical Requirements: Minimum weight 41 kg | Minimum height 5 ft | Good physical health.
- Basic Allowance: Rs. 40,008/- per month.

Application Submission Guidelines
Eligible candidates must prepare their application following the prescribed SLTB format and send it strictly by Registered Post to reach the SLTB on or before 07 September 2026.
- Write the Post Applied For and the Relevant Region clearly on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
- Keep your School Leaving Certificate (Student Record) ready, as it must be produced at the interview.
- Incomplete applications or forms not matching the prescribed layout will be rejected.
- Transfers will not be entertained after appointment.

අයදුම් කරන ආකාරය: සම්පූර්ණ කරන ලද අයදුම්පත් ලියාපදිංචි තැපෑලෙන් 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 07 දිනට පෙර “ප්රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී, ශ්රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය, නො. 200, කිරුළ පාර, නාරාහේන්පිට, කොළඹ 05” ලිපිනයට යොමු කළ යුතුය. ලිපි කවරයේ ඉහළ වම් කෙළවරේ ඉල්ලුම් කරන තනතුර සහ කලාපය පැහැදිලිව සඳහන් කරන්න.

விண்ணப்பிக்கும் முறை: பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்ட விண்ணப்பங்கள் பதிவுத் தபால் மூலம் செப்டம்பர் 07, 2026 ஆம் திகதிக்கு முன்னர் “பிரதம நிறைவேற்று அதிகாரி, இலங்கை போக்குவரத்து சபை, இல. 200, கிருள வீதி, நாராஹேன்பிட்ட, கொழும்பு 05” என்ற முகவரிக்கு அனுப்பப்பட வேண்டும். கடித உறையின் மேல் இடது மூலையில் விண்ணப்பிக்கும் பதவி மற்றும் வலையத்தை தெளிவாகக் குறிப்பிடவும்.
