Sri Lankan school students and teachers can now enter the Asidisi Vidumaga School Creative Competition 2026, organised by the Department of Government Information to strengthen media literacy and encourage media-related creativity. Entries close on 15 October 2026.

Who can participate?
- Junior: students in Grades 6 to 9.
- Senior: students in Grades 10 to 13.
- Open: students in Grades 6 to 13 for competitions conducted only as Open events.
- Teachers: the Best Research Paper Competition is reserved for teachers.
Students and teachers from Government, Semi-Government, Private and International Schools are eligible for the relevant competitions. A student must still be enrolled at the school when the application is certified.

Student entries must use the prescribed form and be certified and recommended by the school Principal with a signature and official seal. Submit a separate form for each competition.
How to submit an entry
- Choose the competition and confirm its category, medium, format and entry limit in the official guidelines.
- Prepare original work that has not been copied or plagiarised.
- Download and complete the correct application form.
- Obtain the required Principal’s certification for a student or school entry.
- Submit by registered post or to the competition-specific email address, exactly as stated below.
- Ensure the complete entry reaches the organizer on or before 15 October 2026.

Important rules
- Entries must be the participant’s original work.
- A participant may enter more than one competition, but each competition requires a separate form.
- Unless a competition sets a lower limit, one applicant may submit up to two entries for one competition.
- Written work must follow the official paper, font and formatting requirements.
- School media, radio, Facebook and YouTube entries must meet their specific operational and student-created-content rules.
- The official English guideline does not state an entry fee.
Prizes and judging
First, Second and Third Places and Certificates of Merit will be awarded as applicable to each category and language medium. Winners will receive certificates and valuable prizes. Entries will be evaluated by an expert panel, and the panel’s decision will be final except for disputes involving originality or ownership.
