University of Jaffna Registrar Vacancy 2026: Qualifications and How to Apply

The University of Jaffna has called applications for the post of Registrar, its most senior administrative officer, and applications must reach the university on or before 6 November 2026. This guide sets out the salary, the six qualification routes, the selection method and the exact way to apply, from the university’s notice published on 11 October 2026.

Qualifications (any one route)

1. A First or Second Class degree, a PhD in Administration or Management, and at least 10 years of administrative experience after the first degree.
2. A First or Second Class degree, a Master’s degree of at least 2 years in Administration or Management, and at least 12 years of administrative experience after the first degree.
3. A serving Deputy Secretary or Deputy Registrar of a commission, HEI or institute with 3 years of satisfactory service in that post, a degree, a Master’s of at least 1 year in Administration or Management, and at least 14 years of administrative experience, with at least 5 years at the U-EX 2(I) level described in the notice.
4. As route 3, but with a Postgraduate Diploma of at least 1 year instead of the Master’s, and 15 years of administrative experience.
5. An Attorney-at-Law with a degree who has served 3 years as Deputy Secretary or Deputy Registrar, with 15 years of administrative experience.
6. A graduate serving Deputy Secretary or Deputy Registrar with 18 years of administrative experience in a commission, HEI or institute, at least 3 of them confirmed in that post.

The notice counts administrative experience in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service or comparable state or private sector posts in HR management, general administration or overall management, gained after the first degree. Finance, engineering and other technical experience does not count.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form from the University of Jaffna Registrar notice and state the qualification route you are applying under.
2. Attach certified copies of all your certificates. Applications without them are rejected.
3. Pay the Rs. 1,000 fee as the notice explains and attach the slip or transfer proof.
4. Write “Post of Registrar” at the top left of the envelope.
5. Hand-deliver or send by registered post to the Deputy Registrar, Non-Academic Establishments, University of Jaffna, on or before 6 November 2026.
